OUR SCHOOL

A Vibrant Learning Environment

At St. Martha's Catholic School, you’ll find the creative and comfortable learning atmosphere you have been hoping for. Located in La Puente, our School has been shaping minds and refining skills since 1960. We are privileged to teach students from all parts of the city, offering them a unique curriculum with plenty of educational and engaging activities.

St. Martha Catholic School was established in September 1960 under the direction of the Parish pastor, Reverend John MacNamara and the Sisters of the Love of God. The school is located on 440 North Azusa Avenue in the city of Valinda. The school opened in 1960 with an enrollment of 160 students in grades one through four. An additional grade was added each year thereafter, with the first graduating class in 1968. Due to insufficient land, no kindergarten was established.

In preparation for the opening of the school, the pastor invited the Sisters of the Love of God to staff the school and lay down the foundation for the educational program. For more than 48 years, the Sisters of the Love of God have provided and continue to provide the parish with their religious presence in the school and in the parish community.

St. Martha’s School has eight classrooms with the capacity for 35 students in each for a total of 280 students. The school also has an audiovisual room, a library, and a computer lab that are used daily.

St. Martha's School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA).
